`FLORENCE – The Shoals Chamber of Commerce was the scene of today’s mayoral proclamation signing kicking off Adult Literacy Week in the Shoals.

Executive Director, Jim Green said that literacy is is something that is oftentimes taken for granted, except for those folks who don’t have the ability. Northwest Alabama Reading Aides is dedicated to changing that. Green says that anybody over 16 who would like to learn to read, or to improve their reading skills is encouraged to contact the Agency.
