Casey Wayne Gilbert, 27 of Athens, Alabama died on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.
Born Saturday, May 2, 1987 in Decatur, Alabama, he was the son of the late James Wayland Russell and Stephanie G. Anderson. He enjoyed NBA Basketball and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, and his grandfathers: Alvin Russell and Wayne Gilbert.
Surviving are: Special Friend: Nikki Wisinski of Athens, AL, his mother: Stephanie Gilbert and step-father Terry Anderson of Athens, AL, brothers, Damieon Gentry of Rogersville, AL, Austin Anderson of Athens, AL, Terrias Cain of Athens, AL and Datarius Crutcher of Athens, AL, and grandmother: Ava Joe Gilbert of Athens, AL.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 22, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Terry officiating with burial following in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
