Margaret Lee Collum Burleson, 89, Russellville, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Russellville Health Care.
She was born to Easter Brown Collum and James Bascom (J.B.) Collum on Jan. 26, 1925. She spent her youth in Decatur, Falkville, and Lacon, Ala. She was married to her husband, Donald E. Burleson, on Aug. 31, 1943, and they spent over 65 years together. She lived most of her adult life in Russellville, Ala. where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Russellville.
She was preceded in death by husband, Donald Burleson; infant daughter, Sarah Amanda Burleson; son, Anthony E. Burleson; son-in-law, R.C. King; parents, James Bascom and Easter Collum; and siblings, James Collum, Mary Alice Collum, and Ruth Collum Tanner.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Lee King, Carole Sue (Gene) Britton, and Andrea (Jerry) Palmer; son, James Monte Burleson; and sister, Jean Collum Minter. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather King Clowers, Holly King Watkins, Julie King Hulsey, Aaron Burleson, Jennifer Burleson Mitchell, Bonnie Britton McKinney, Adam Britton, Jamie Britton, Zeke Britton, Laura Kim Burleson Howell, and Daniel Burleson; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at Spry Memorial Chapel, Russellville. The graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014, at Hartselle City Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be Gene Britton.
The pallbearers will grandsons and nephews.
