Mary Lipscomb King, 94, of Huntsville, passed away Saturday. Mary was an active member of First United Methodist Church, best known for her long time service to the Alter Guild, for which she served as chairman. Mary also worked, for many years, for Dr. Moody Walker both at the real estate business, as well as at his medical office.
She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Lowe King; and brother, Glenn “Buck” Lipscomb. She is survived by her sister, Mamie Thornton of Silver Spring, MD; brother, Odie (Irma) Lipscomb of New Market, VA; four nieces; three nephews; and her step daughter, Joanne (Bob) Caldwell of Seattle, WA.
Visitation will be today from 1- 3 p.m. in the Chapel at First United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Coy Halmark officiating. Burial will be in Lipscomb Cemetery in Lacey’s Spring. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Billie Scott Sunday School Class.
