Janie Sue Sandlin, 81, of Athens, AL passed away Wednesday October 13, 2026. She was born May 12, 1945, to Edd Harrison Carter and Beatrice Irene (Clanton) Carter.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim Sandlin; eight brothers and sisters, Jack Carter, Lonis Carter, J.D. Carter, Bobby Carter, Avis Adcock, Madeline Gardner, Ella Ruth McElyea and Ann Wigginton.
She is survived by her son, Tracy (Cheryl) Sandlin; two grandchildren, Brystal (Nick) Suozzo and Forrest Sandlin; one great grandson, Jesse Suozzo; three siblings, Nellie Robison, Dorothy Ezell, and Larry Carter; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 15th, 2026 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16th, 2026 at 11:00am at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Kasey Harbin officiating. Burial with follow in Athens City Cemetery.
Pall bearers will be Nick Suozzo, Matthew Ezell, Brad Blythe, Will Nave, Jesse Suozzo, and Will Beddingfield.
