Victoria will be cremated, and services will be scheduled at a later date. Victoria’s family appreciates the many thoughts, prayers, and expressions of love extended to them during this difficult season of life.

Born April 26, 1993, in Warsaw, Indiana, Victoria was the daughter of Brenda Durance Filyaw, and the late Albert Lynn Maples. She was a graduate of Hermitage Hall in Nashville, Tennessee. From an early age, Victoria possessed a caring and compassionate heart, qualities that led her into a life of caregiving. Throughout the years, her work took her to many different places and allowed her to care for numerous people, something that came naturally to her tenderhearted spirit.

A Christian and member of Graysville Church of God, Victoria was a loving young woman with a personality that could light up a room. She had a contagious laugh, a warm smile, and a larger-than-life personality that made her presence known wherever she went. She enjoyed meeting people, traveling to different places through her work, and most of all, caring for those who mattered to her.

Victoria was also wonderfully talented and creative. In her free time, she enjoyed drawing and possessed a natural gift for music, having the ability to pick up and play just about any instrument. Yet, above everything else in her life, Victoria loved her babies. They held a place in her heart unlike anything else, and through both the good days and the difficult ones, she wanted nothing more than to give them a good life and for them to always know how deeply they were loved.

Like each of us, Victoria’s earthly journey was not without its struggles, and there were seasons of life that were more difficult than others. But those struggles did not define the heart of the person her family knew and loved. Beneath it all was a caring soul, a compassionate spirit, and a young woman who loved deeply. She was always willing to care for someone in need and, in her own way, tried to leave a little love wherever life carried her.

At only 33 years old, Victoria was a young soul gone far too soon. Her contagious laugh, beautiful smile, and unforgettable personality will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. Though her family would have wished for many more years, they continue to cling to the Lord and find comfort in knowing that Victoria has been released from every earthly burden and pain and is now experiencing the peace and rest promised through Christ.

Those left to cherish Victoria’s memory include her mother, Brenda Filyaw, her step father, Stacy Filyaw Sr (Stephanie); her husband, Cory Hannan; her daughter, Clara Elizabeth Maples; two sons, Kyren Maples and Alex Howard; two brothers, Harley Maples and Stacy Filyaw, Jr.; along with her extended family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Keisha Anne Elizabeth Filyaw.
