Funeral Services for Mrs. Elizabeth “Beth” Smith Hart, age 63 of Ashland, will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Bro. Sam Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Methodist Protestant Bible Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Hart passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at the Clay County Nursing Home. She was born in Alexander City, but was a lifelong resident of Clay County. She began her working career early, working for Madix for 40 years as a spot welder until she retired. Mrs. Beth enjoyed crafting, often doing puzzle books or Diamond Dots. She also enjoyed going shopping, going out to eat with friends and family and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide. Mrs. Beth loved spoiling her nieces and nephews, and spending time with her family. She liked to laugh, had a caring and giving heart, and was a fighter to the end.
Mrs. Hart is survived by two sisters: Melinda Jacobs of Lineville and Leigh Wilson of Ashland; one brother, Jeremy Smith of Ashland; her nieces and nephews: Sam (Tiffany), Caleb, Brandie (Clay), and Chassidie (Colten); her great-nieces and nephews: Caden, Kate, Collins, Justus, Zeke, Malachi, Rachel, Caraline, and Cameron.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Harlin Rayford and Patricia Gayle Smith ; and one infant Sister, Judy Lynn Smith.
Friends and Family will serve as pallbearers.
Her visitation will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland beginning at 9:30 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M.
