Mary “Maggie” Magalene Munlin Patterson, 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 20, 2026. She passed away peacefully at the Sanctuary Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt. Mrs. Patterson was born on July 31, 1930, in Pontotoc, MS. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1948 where she was a member of the basketball team. Her faith in Christ was the cornerstone of her life. She was a longtime devoted member of Palestine Church. She married her beloved husband, Raymond, on April 28, 1949 and together they raised 6 children. She was a homemaker who spent her life raising and caring for her family, who were her greatest blessings. She treasured every moment she spent with those she loved. She was “Granny” to many others beyond just her grandchildren. Granny could usually be found in the kitchen cooking, an art she began at the young age of 13 when she lost her mother. Her table was always full of plenty for everyone. She had a servant’s heart and devoted her life to nurturing others. In addition to cooking, she enjoyed reading her Bible, as well as sewing, quilting, and swinging on her front porch.
Service will be at 3:00 pm Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time. Bro. Ryan Winter will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Forest Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Laura Inmon (Butch), Don Patterson (Sandy), and Clifford Patterson (Debbie); grandchildren, Don Craig Patterson (Monica), Eric Inmon (Kristy), Allison Clingan, Courtney Rackley (Jason), Donna Mitchell (Philip), Tracy Putt (Justin), Rusty Patterson, Zachary Patterson (Nick); a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Earl Patterson; her children, Dianne Patterson, Danny Patterson, and Sidney Patterson; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Patterson; her parents, Thelma Lelon and Verna Warren Munlin; brothers, Royce Munlin and Lajoyce Munlin; and infant triplet grandchildren, Miranda Kelly, Amber Nicole, and Bryson Jared Patterson.
Granny will be deeply missed by her family and always lovingly remembered. We find comfort in knowing that she is in the presence of the Lord.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Munlin, Blake Clingan, Jace Clingan, Clayton Patterson, Cody Patterson, and Garrett Patterson.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jax Coles.
