Marjorie Faye McCrary, 88, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi, following a courageous four-year journey with an illness at home.
Marjorie was born on November 18, 1937, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, to Clarence Nichols and Edith Faye Roberts Nichols. On June 18, 1955, she married the love of her life, Ralph McCrary, with whom she shared more than 71 years of marriage.
Marjorie devoted many years to caring for her family as a homemaker, remaining dedicated to her children until they were grown. Later, she worked as a dental hygienist for many years in Georgia and also served as an office manager for Bass Hunter Boats in Georgia.
A woman of strong faith and a loving heart, Marjorie loved going to church and especially enjoyed caring for the children in the church nursery. She found great joy in working outside among her flowers and took great pride in making her home and surroundings beautiful. Above all, she loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She also cherished the Roberts family reunion and enjoyed organizing the gathering that brought her family together.
Marjorie is survived by her beloved husband, Ralph McCrary; her son, Ralph McCrary, Jr. (Ann) of Ozark, Arkansas; her sister, Martha Durham of Arkansas; four grandchildren, Lance McCrary of Tennessee, Cody McCrary of Georgia, Caitlyn McCrary of Georgia, and Chase McCrary of Georgia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Edith Nichols; her sister, Lovis Little; and her son, Danny McCrary.
Marjorie will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her generous spirit, her strong faith, and the countless ways she cared for others. Her family will forever treasure the memories of her love, her laughter, her flowers, and the special gatherings she worked so hard to bring together. Though she will be deeply missed, the legacy of love she leaves behind will continue through the generations of family she cherished so dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home, with Bro. Billy Wayne Henderson and Bro. Rusty Miller officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time Sunday.
Burial will follow at Pontotoc Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be David Owens, Steve Little, Kevin Ussery, Joseph Sloan, Zachery Shelby, Bailey Harlow, and Jakob Whitten.
Marjorie’s life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, devotion, and love. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
