Roy Daughtery officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. He was born on January 10, 1960 to John E. “Harmon” Murphy and Shirley Marie Studdard Murphy and passed away at Huntsville Hospital on August 20, 2026.
Danny was a proud Air Force veteran, dedicated professional, loving Husband, Father and PawPaw, and a hard worker whose life was marked by service, creativity, and dedication to those around him. He had a lifelong love of computers, technology, and woodworking. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years working on computers and in communications, building a strong foundation of technical knowledge and problem- solving skills that remained an important part of who he was throughout his life. After retiring from the military, he went on to work for the UAB School of Nursing for 22 years before retiring as the Instructional Design Manager. He brought his knowledge, dedication, and love for computers with him to help create and support innovative ways for others to learn and expanded their online Nursing Program. Whether he was working on a computer, figuring out how to solve a problem, or creating something with his hands in his workshop, he was happiest when he was learning, building, and making things better.
His greatest joy in life was being a PawPaw. He was immensely proud of his grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. His love, wisdom (free advice), encouragement, and memories he created with them will remain a lasting part of their lives.
From proudly serving his country for 20 years, to building a career helping others through technology and education, he leaves behind a legacy that will not be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was proceeded in death by his parents: John and Shirley Murphy, his brothers: Tommy, Gary and Bruce Murphy, sister: Kathy Berry, and daughters: Jessica Breeden and Laura B. Knight.
