Bonnie Kaye (Moore) Terry, 79, of Trinity, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on August 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and dear friends.
Born December 11, 1946, in Decatur, Alabama, Bonnie was the beloved daughter of James H. Moore and Lillian Olinger Moore. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion to the people she held dear.
Bonnie was one of those rare souls whose presence could fill a room before she ever stepped into it. If you knew her, you knew exactly what that meant, because you could always hear her coming. Whether it was her laughter, her stories, or her joyful spirit, Bonnie had a way of making every gathering brighter and every person feel welcome. She never met a stranger and had a gift for turning acquaintances into lifelong friends.
She found joy in life’s simple treasures. She loved sewing and crafting, creating beautiful keepsakes with her hands and love in every stitch. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips to the beach, where the sound of the waves brought her peace. She also had a deep love for flowers and spent countless hours tending her gardens, finding joy in every bloom.
Bonnie loved softball and spent many years at the ballfield, both playing and cheering on those she loved. The game brought her countless happy memories, but even more importantly, it brought her lifelong friendships. Some of her dearest friends were made under the lights of a softball field, and those friendships remained a treasured part of her life through the years.
More than all of her hobbies and interests, Bonnie’s greatest love was her family. She shared 60 devoted years of marriage with her beloved husband, Danny, building a life filled with love, faith, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Together they created a family that became the center of her world. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother. Her legacy is not measured in years, but in the countless lives she touched and the immeasurable love she leaves behind.
Bonnie is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Danny K. Terry; her sons, Rodney Terry (Missy), Donnie Terry (Delinda), and Tim Terry (Jamie); her sister, Ronnie Emrico; her grandchildren, Tiffany Callahan (Joey), Jared Terry (Meagan), Jada Terry, Nick Terry, and Payson Terry; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. Moore and Lillian Olinger Moore; her sisters, Marcia Greenwood, Ann “Tootsie” Parker, and Agnes “Punkin” Whaley; and her brother, Jimmy Moore.
As we say goodbye to Bonnie, our hearts are filled not only with sorrow, but with profound gratitude for the angels who walked beside her during her final journey.
The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to Tammy Dutton, Brittany Davis, Peyton Dutton, Lane Hagood, and Elana Clemons and Carla Brantley of Hospice of the Valley. Thank you for the gift of your compassion, kindness, and love. In our mother’s most vulnerable days, you became so much more than caregivers. You became friends, confidants, sources of comfort, and cherished members of our family.
You brought peace to difficult days, laughter to quiet moments, and dignity to every step of her journey. Your gentle hands and caring hearts allowed Mom to remain where she most wanted to be, at home, surrounded by those she loved. Through every visit, every hug, every encouraging word, and every act of kindness, you helped carry not only her burdens, but ours as well.
Mom loved each of you dearly. She looked forward to your visits, treasured your conversations, and felt the genuine love you poured into her life. We take comfort in knowing that during her final season on this earth, she was surrounded by people who cared for her as though she were their own mother.
There are no words sufficient to express what you have meant to our family. Your kindness will forever be woven into the story of Bonnie’s life and into the hearts of those who loved her. We will always be grateful that God placed each of you in our path and allowed you to love on our Mom with such grace, tenderness, and devotion.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Terry, Donnie Terry, Tim Terry, Jared Terry, Nick Terry, Jim Emrico, and Jeremi Goodpastor.
Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind. Her laughter still echoes in our hearts, her love still guides our steps, and her spirit lives on in the family she cherished so deeply.
Even though we must let you go, we have the promise and assurance that we will see you again. Until then, we love you.
WE WILL SEE YOU LATER, MOM.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten. ♥
