Jimmie Sue McCollum Moore Profile Photo  Jimmie Sue McCollum Moore, 83, took her first heavenly breath early on the morning of Monday, August 17, 2026.

A life-long resident of Hazel Green, Mrs. Moore was deeply passionate about its history and future. She had a remarkable ability to get things done. Selfless and sincere, she cared deeply for everyone she met. Above all, her greatest joys were being a faithful Christian, devoted wife of her high school sweetheart for over 61 years, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, friend, co-worker, neighbor and a mother figure to many. Her heart, her ears and her home were always open, accompanied with a welcoming spirit and a ready hand to help. Many will remember Mrs. Moore for her more than 30 years of dedicated service as assistant to the Madison County District 1 Commissioner, where she set a high standard for diligently and devotedly serving the public. She was instrumental in establishing the Tillman Hill Public Library and was a faithful member of Murphy Hill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughters Susan (David) Wright and Sandi (Wayne) Wilburn; grandchildren Clara (Sam) Bailey, Joey Wilburn, Sam (Erika) Wilburn, Meagan Wilburn, Callie Gregory; Great grandchildren Harper Grace, Ayla, Judge and Nicholas. Sisters, Mary Elizabeth Beasley and Jo Ann Fann; sisters-in-law, Loveal Thompson, Betty (Alan) Dorning and Dorothy Moore; and a large loving family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
