Frances Evelyn Maples, age 65, of Spencer, Tennessee, passed away on August 15, 2026, at her home following an extended illness. Frances was born on December 30, 1960, to Jim and Dorothy Hensley. She loved flowers and gardening, her dogs, Oreo and Penny, and, most of all, her family. She was a member of Mooneyham Church of God.
In addition to her parents, Frances is survived by her loving family: her husband of 33 years, Gary Maples; son, Dr. William (Nina) Hall; daughter, Angie Maples; brothers, James Songer and Joe Songer; sister, Patricia Van Winkle; grandchildren, Keira Smith, Cynthia Smith, Hunter Smith, Kyle Jay “KJ” Maples, Stella Maples, and one baby girl on the way; special friends, Rita Mayfield and Karen Taylor. Several nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.
A funeral service for Mrs. Frances Maples will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Mooneyham Church of God, with Bro. Doug Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow at Myers Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. All visitation will take place at Mooneyham Church of God.
