David L. Mitchell, age 65 of Phil Campbell, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Haleyville on January 30, 1961 to Leonard Mitchell and Faye (Ballard) Lindsey. David was a lifelong resident of Hamilton. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and grilling. One of David’s pastimes was roller-skating. Visitation will be Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Old New Hope Cemetery in Hamilton. David is survived by his son, Cody David Mitchell; grandsons, Dalton and Kaden Mitchell; sister, Paula Raburn Mills; aunt, Becky Ballard Holland; a host of cousins; and very special friends Theresa and Bryan Dickinson who helped him whenever with whatever was needed and cared for him during his sickness. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Freeman and Flossie Carter Ballard; parents, Leonard Mitchell and Faye Ballard Lindsey; brothers, Randal Lee Mitchell and Teddy Warren Mitchell; uncles, J.
