Troy Edward Ford, passed away at his residence on August 12, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Monday August 17 at New Horizon Chapel. Rev. Chris Pschirer will officiate. Burial will follow in Shanghi Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
Mr. Ford is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy Kizziah Ford, children James Micheal Ford and Sonya Ford, grandchildren Caleb (Savannah), Trent Brasfield, Paige Sanford, and Noah Allen Sanford II, great grandchildren Remi Sanford, Link Goodwin, Amelia Brasfield, Kashton Brasfield, Sadie Kate Brasfield, and Stella Brasfield, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his dad and stepmom Henry and Ruby Ford, Mother Laveral Cooley Ford, sister Patricia Crumpton, brother Jerome Ford and father and mother-in-law James and Bertie Kizziah.
Troy was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He served as the Mayor of West Jefferson from 2000- 2008. He was the owner of West Jefferson Convenience Store from 1988 until 2000; he was also the owner of Ford Truck Parts from 1970 until 2000.
