Haywood Earl Farris, was born on September 25, 1945, in McNairy County, Tennessee, departed peacefully on August 9, 2026, in Michie, Tennessee, at the age of 80. Born to Leonard and Hazel Burns Farris, Haywood embraced life with a steadfast commitment to family and community.

For over 40 years, Haywood laid bricks with dedication, building both structures and relationships throughout his career. His passion for the simple joys—tending his garden, maintaining his yard, and enjoying spirited card games—was evident to all who knew him.

A proud veteran, Haywood served honorably in the United States Army, exemplifying courage and commitment.

He leaves behind a loving legacy through his son, Alton Farris; brother, Ronald D. Farris; sister, Frances McAlister; and beloved grandchildren, Amy Brodie, Jason Farris, Amber Farris, Amanda Farris, along with six cherished great-grandchildren. He is fondly remembered by his extended family and a cherished circle of friends.

Preceded in death by his son Alan, and siblings Lavern Steakley, Linda Cornelius, Jack (Jackie) Farris, E.J. Farris, and Freddy Farris,
