Josie Elizabeth Steele, 83, passed away on Thursday, August 6, at the North Mississippi Medical Center hospice unit. She was born October 10, 1942,in Vina, Alabama, to George Henry and Thelma Lee Upton Bullock. She was an inspector at Blue Bell and Vanity Fair factories for over 40 years. She had been a member of Harden’s Chapel Church since 1972, where she was a long-time nursery and pre-school Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed cross-stitching, word search and jigsaw puzzles, sewing, quilting, and cooking for her family.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, August 9, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Rev. Darrell Sanderson officiating. Burial will be in the Harden’s Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn Summerford (Kevin) and Sandra South (Billy F.), all of Fulton; one sister, Brenda Barnett of Saltillo; five grandchildren, Carrie Whitehead (Don), Brandi Kent (Jamie), Jordan South (fiancé Jordan), Kayla White (Chris), and Chandler South (Audrey); ten great grandchildren, Jayden Summerford, Lynden Whitehead, Kinsley White, Carsten Kent, Hanley South, Delainey Kent, Lylianna Summerford, Beckett Kent, Josie South, and Magnolia South.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Ronald Steele; her parents; four brothers, Bill Bullock, Bob Bullock, Jim Bullock, and John Bullock; and two sisters, Mary Wooten and Rebecca Strickland.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.
Visitation will be Sunday from noon until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home.
