Roy Milam Fulmer Roy Milam Fulmer

Roy Milam Fulmer, 90, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family in the comfort of his home.

Roy was born on September 23, 1935, in Talladega, Alabama, to Julius Fulmer and Belle (Milam) Fulmer.

On January 24, 1958, he married the love of his life, Annie Yvonne Fulmer. Together, they built a life centered on faith, unwavering commitment, and a deep love for their family. Their marriage was a beautiful testimony of God’s faithfulness and endured for more than six decades until Yvonne’s passing.

Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Korean War veteran. Following his military service, he graduated from Jacksonville State University, where he played football. He devoted more than 35 years to education as a teacher, coach, and bus driver, touching the lives of countless students with his patience, wisdom, encouragement, and kindness. His influence reached far beyond the classroom and athletic field, leaving a lasting impact on generations of young people.

A man of deep faith, Roy loved the Lord with all his heart. He treasured his family above all else and found great joy in spending time with those he loved. Whether cheering on Auburn football, enjoying a round of golf with friends, or gathering with family, Roy lived a life filled with laughter, friendship, and gratitude. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, steady character, servant’s heart, and the unconditional love he shared with everyone who knew him.

Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annie Yvonne Fulmer; his parents, Julius Fulmer and Belle (Milam) Fulmer; his sons, Stanley Fulmer, Steven Fulmer, and Jeff Fulmer; and his siblings, Betty Sue Chandler and Wayne Fulmer.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Danny (Wendy) Fulmer and Jill Head; his grandchildren, Steven Fulmer, Beth (Aaron) Monroe, Carlos Fulmer, Celeste Fulmer, and Isaac Head; his great-grandchildren, Brooke Monroe, Jonathon Monroe, Emma Monroe, and Xander Miller; his great-great-grandchildren, Isabella Dicken and Madilynn Dicken; his brother, Jimmy Fulmer; his sister, Joyce Knight; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Although our hearts are broken, we rejoice in knowing that Roy is now reunited with the love of his life and with those who have gone before him. His legacy of faith, love, service, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Boaz Carr Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery following the service. Bro. Stephen Brown will officiate his service. Pallbearers will be Carlos Fulmer, Isaac Head, Steven Fulmer, Jonathon Monroe, Elizabeth Monroe and Chase Atherton. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 before the service.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Arrangements entrusted to Boaz Carr Funeral Home.
