Charles Wallace, age 77, of Russellville, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at TriStar Medical Center in Nashville, TN
Charles Wallace, beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, cousin, uncle and friend to so many, finished his race on June 23, 2026.
He leaves to cherish and carry on his memory the love of his life, his beautiful wife, Gail Wallace, his daughters Noel, Amy (Mark) and his son Zeb. He leaves two grandkids whom he loved and doted on, Tyler and Molly. He leaves his sister Becky, his brother Bobby and his sister-in-law Dell Ree Wallace. He also leaves a whole host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great -great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was a Christian and spent his life being an example to those around him. He was always true to his word and treated everyone with respect. He was slow to anger and quick to forgive. He was a peacemaker who didn’t like to see folks at odds with each other. A family man in the truest sense, he put his family ahead of himself and took care of them in every way he could. He was a hardworking man, a humble man and a friend to everyone who knew him. He didn’t like to be made a fuss over or have anyone do things for him. Instead, he jumped at any chance to help someone else. He was always willing to quietly help out, with no fanfare.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and received Airmen of the Month while stationed on Guam He worked as a pipefitter at Reynolds and later Wise, and he was a proud member of the Franklin County Cattleman’s Association. He took great pleasure in helping with their steak sandwich sales and he was named Franklin County Cattlemen of the Year in 2020.
Charles loved to play music and always enjoyed an opportunity to meet with friends to pick a little. He loved going to CJs in the mornings to help solve the world’s problems with his friends. And he loved the outdoors, his cattle and his horses. Horses in particular were something he loved since he was a child. He spent many happy days riding with his family and friends.
He loved to cut-up, tell jokes, pick at and tease all the kids in his life and play games with those kids. He loved a good card or board game. He taught the kids a lot of good lessons about good sportsmanship, patience, kindness and watching out for one another. He was always patient with kids and showed by example the kind of men and women we should grow to be.
One of the greatest men to ever live, Charles will be missed by so many. But his legacy will live on through the lives he touched along his journey.
