A Memorial Visitation service for Sonia Ann Kimbrell, 69, will be on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hartselle Church of Christ.
Ms. Kimbrell passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at her residence. She was born January 20, 1957, in Morgan County, to Maxie Ray Blankenship and Martha Ann Holloway Blankenship.
She was a Baptist in her faith and was retired from her teaching career. She had taught for the Decatur City School System, at Oak Park Middle School, as an Art Teacher, prior to her retirement.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and two brothers: Michael Ray Blankenship and Maxie Ray Blankenship, Jr.
Survivors include
Son – Joshua Michael Kimbrell (Casie),
Sister – Penelope Rea (Blankenship) Beasley,
Grandchildren – Macin Kimbrell, Max Kimbrell and Trai Kimbrell.
Nephew – Spencer Lawson Beasley (Lauren),
Niece – Margaret Anne Beasley,
Great Nephew – Lawson Beasley,
Great Niece – Ann Collins Beasley
In lieu of flowers- family requests memorial donations be made to the American Diabetic Association, Hospice of North Alabama, or to Alabama Center for the Arts.
