Lola Ruth Anglin, age 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Lexington Manor.
Born on October 10, 1936, in Morehead, Kentucky, Lola was the daughter of the late Ernest and Delphi Atkins Flannery. She lived a life devoted to her faith, family, and service to others.
Lola worked for many years as a cook at Scotts Hill High School, where she was known for her hard work and caring spirit. She also spent much of her life as a caregiver, always putting the needs of others before her own. A devoted member of Souls Harbor Pentecostal Church, Lola was a faithful Christian who loved attending church, supporting missionaries, and serving the Lord throughout her life.
Known affectionately by her family as “The Queen” and “Mema,” Lola was the heart of her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She enjoyed tending her beautiful flowers and avid online shopper. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years, Malcom Anglin; her son, Joey Anglin; two brothers, Johnny Flannery and Jimmy Flannery; and six sisters, Bernell Drexter, Gene Flannery, Pauline Marras, Jolene Lehman, Lorene Hogge, and Coleen Garrett.
She is survived by her son, Keith Anglin (Vanity); three grandchildren, Michael Anglin (Emily), Kimberly Wilson (Nick), and Laura Woodward (Caitlin); ten great-grandchildren, Micah Anglin, Zach Anglin, John Mack Anglin, Hanna Anglin (Dylan Greenway), Raven Phelps (Andre), Kaydence Gibson, Landon Wilson (Mykelle), Braden Wilson (Haley), Nate Wilson, and Brooklyn Wilson; and four great-great-grandchildren, River Wilson, Silas Tharpe, Ellie Wilson, and Jax Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Scotts Hill.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour at 11:00 a.m.
Lola’s legacy of faith, love, generosity, and devotion to family will be treasured forever by all who knew and loved her.
