Margie Whitley Colvard, age 87 of Fort Payne, passed away Monday, June 22, 2026. She was born on August 24, 1938 to the late Hermon & Louverner Whitley.
After receiving her LPN, she spent 51 years as a Nurse at DeKalb General Hospital which later became Baptist Medical Center DeKalb.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2026 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Mtn. View Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 p.m. until the 4 p.m. hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
She is survived by her children, Denise (Ron) McAbee, Brent Colvard and Mary Lisa Colvard; grandchildren, Sara McAbee, Andrea McAbee, Haley McAbee, and Caleb Colvard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Colvard; and parents.
