Obituary of Hal Merton CaudleHal Merton Caudle, III, age 71 of Pulaski, passed away on Saturday June 20, 2026 at his residence.

Hal Caudle, III was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL on February 25, 1955 to Hal Merton Caudle, Jr and Pauline Ruth Dawson Caudle. Hal worked as a CNA for Sunbridge, was a member of Pulaski Assembly of God, and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Later in life, he continued caring for others through his work and service to his community, given he was a jack of all trades. However, he was best known as the “Watermelon Man” at the farmers market, this nickname reflected not just what he sold but the familiar face and conversation people came to know and enjoy. He had a creative side with a knack for making dream catchers, often sharing his handiwork with others while cooling them off with a fresh slice of watermelon. Hal also embraced every opportunity to be outdoors and, on the move, whether he was hunting, fishing, or riding motorcycles. He found a sense of freedom and adventure on the open road, an appreciation in the beauty of nature, and satisfaction in creating small treasures with his hands which in turn gave him a life full of meaning and purpose. Hal is preceded in death by his parents Hal Caudle, Jr. and Polly Caudle; wife Ruth Caudle.

Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Friday July 10, 2026 at Pulaski Assembly of God. A Graveside Service will follow at 11 am on Saturday July, 11, 2026 at Giles Memory Garden.

Hal is survived by his son Jason Caudle (Laura) of Idaho; daughter Brandy Hayes of Ardmore; sister Catherine Wehrwein of Pulaski; 5 stepchildren Ruthie (Brad), Sandy, Clarence (Pricilla), Randy, and Tonya; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; as well as numerous nephews, relatives, and friends.
