Timothy Scott “Tim” Johnson, JD*, age 67, of Nashville, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026 at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Thursday, June 24th, in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Sam Andavazo officiating. Mr. Johnson was born October 24, 1958, in Springfield, TN, to the late Ammon and Dorothy Jean Johnson. Tim received his BA in Political Science from Lipscomb University in 1981 and graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1985. He received his Series 7 in 1998. Tim met the love of his life, Kimberly Turner when they both worked at Morgan Keegan & Company in Memphis, TN, he was an equity guy and she was a bond girl. They were each other’s rock and the love they shared together was unmatched. They continued their careers in Nashville.
Tim was the founder of Woodlawn Wealth in Nashville. After serving as Chief Investment Strategist for Lincoln Financial Advisors and Osaic Wealth, Inc. for 17 years, Tim chose to focus full time on his practice filled with wonderful clients. His specialties included fixed-income, equity allocations and affluent wealth management.
While at Lincoln and Osaic Wealth, Inc. he served as Chairman of the Manager Selection Committee, as well as a member of the Product Review Committee. The office of the Chief Investment Strategist, assisted in the allocation of approximately $25 billion across several investment platforms.
Tim worked for NYSE member firms in several positions. He held the position of manager of arbitrage trading. Tim specialized in debt, convertible and risk arbitrage analysis and trading for the firm’s principal account. He also worked in municipal finance, arranging municipal and private-use bond issues relating to arbitrage and investment strategies in bond issue proceeds. Proceeds of these issues were generally ten million dollars and greater.
In addition, Tim served as sole portfolio manager of a registered, diversified equity mutual fund. Tim managed all aspects of the fund’s research and trading functions.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Johnson; and sister-in-law, Betsy Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kim Johnson; brother, Stan (Janie) Johnson; brother-in-law, Thomas H, Turner; sister-in-law, Tracy T. Harlin; and his beloved dog, Fiona.
