Mary Elizabeth Yates Parker, age 35, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on June 7, 2026. Born November 14, 1990, in Alabama, Mary will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew her.

Mary attended Speake High School in Danville, where the early foundations of her life were formed and where those around her could already see the warmth and sincerity that would continue to define her presence.

A devoted daughter, Mary gave of herself readily and without hesitation. She could often be found helping her dad test his DJ equipment the night before a show—singing “karaoke style,” loud and proud—then drawing other family members into the moment, inviting them to sing along and dance through the living room with wide smiles and shared laughter. In these simple, joyful scenes, her thoughtfulness and loyalty shone through, and her ability to make others feel included and cherished was unmistakable.

Mary was an avid painter and a true lover of the arts, with a spirit that seemed most at ease when creativity and beauty were close at hand. She took every opportunity to wander outside—whether for a full hike, a walk around the block, or an unhurried, open-ended stroll spent talking with her siblings. Music was a constant companion in her life, always playing in the background no matter what she was doing. And though she would never admit it, she held a quiet love of fishing—one her unmistakable enthusiasm and expressions revealed more honestly than words ever could.

Her compassion extended beyond people to all living creatures. Mary had a deep passion for animals and was known for swerving to avoid wildlife, unwilling to let harm come if she could prevent it. She would stop what she was doing to help an animal in need, guided by a gentle, kind-hearted, and selfless nature that asked for nothing in return. She also possessed a remarkable discernment—able, after a single conversation, to sense the goodness in someone’s heart.

Mary’s legacy is one of light. Free spirited and adventurous, she carried a steady tenderness that made others feel safe, seen, and valued. With her fun-loving, silly way of being, she could lift the mood of an entire room, leaving people with an easy grin and a sense that the day had become a little brighter simply because she was in it.

Mary is survived by her father Reyford Parker Jr., step-mother Krista Parker; her fiancé Jay Burgess and step-son Grayson Burgess; her brothers Terry Parker, Jesse Tidwell, Skylar Tidwell (Brooke), Quenton Beavers (Anaka), Gauge Compton, Kaydence Parker, and Bill Parker; her sisters Heather Blair and Jessica Parker; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Pender; aunts Michelle Pender and Marcia Pender; and niece Zaylee Blair.
