Donald Auston Motte, 66, of Arab, Alabama, passed away at his residence on Saturday, June 13, 2026. He was born in Gardendale, Alabama, on June 5, 1960, to Arvel Motte and Maymee Eloise Creel Motte. Don retired from Arab Foodland after serving many years as assistant manager.
Don was a devoted family man and a hardworking provider. He took great pride in his work and genuinely cared for his co-workers and customers, who returned that affection in kind. His warm personality and ability to connect with people made his work with the public especially meaningful. In his free time, he enjoyed relaxing and watching westerns on television. He and Lori, his wife of over 38 years especially enjoyed their time spent at the beach.
Surviving family members include his wife, Lori Arrington Motte; sons, Seth Motte (Danielle) and Chadwick Motte (Lyndsi); daughters, Tara Motte Cornelius (Chris) and Kristy Motte (Josh Stanton); granddaughter, Addi Hopkins; and sister-in-law, Mona Motte
Don was preceded in death by his mother, Maymee Motte; his father, Arvel Motte; his brothers, Sidney Motte and Jerry Motte; and his sister, Gwen Motte.
