Mary Edlene Alexander (Robbins), born on June 16, 1932, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026. Her life was marked by love, resilience, and devotion to her family and those close to her.

Mary was predeceased by the father of her children and husband, Vernon “Bud” Alexander; their infant son, Smitty Alexander; her mother, Etta Phillips; and Byrd Cole, her father. These losses were deeply felt throughout her lifetime.

Throughout her years, Mary experienced the profound love and companionship of two other husbands after the passing of Vernon Alexander—Rc Alexander and Paul Robbins—both of whom she cherished dearly, and who loved her until the end of their lives. This testament to her enduring spirit and capacity for love remains a cherished part of her legacy.

Mary’s family was her great joy and pride. She is survived by her beloved children: Vonda (Donald) Grayson, Judy Parker, and Danny (Canda) Alexander. Her legacy extends through her grandchildren, Shane (Tracy) Grayson, Jason (Jennifer) Pugh, Kaye (Brandon) Gurley, Cassidi Perry (Eric Perry), and Brittney (Jacob) Tidwell. Her loving great-grandchildren include Micah (Kelsi) Grayson, Caleb (Hannah) Grayson, Grant (Maddie) Gurley, Davis Gurley, Ross Gurley, Trey Perry, Kaden Perry, Avery Tidwell, and Chloie Tidwell. The family circle is further enriched by her great-great-granddaughters Amelia Grayson, Marsali Grayson, and Charlotte Grayson.

Mary’s family and friends wish to extend special thanks to her devoted caregiver, Gary Cannon, whose dedicated care brought comfort and support in her final days.

A visitation to honor Mary Edlene Alexander’s memory will be held at Bell Funeral Home in Sumiton, Alabama, located at 510 Main Street, on June 16, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the same location at 2:00 PM.

As we remember Mary Edlene Alexander, we honor a life defined by deep familial love, strength in the face of loss, and an enduring grace that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who were fortunate to share in her life’s journey.
