Jerri-Lee Dison Gupton died Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Centennial Medical Center after a long battle with the effects of pancreatic cancer.
Jerri was born July 22, 1955 in Nashville to the late John Thomas “Buddy” Dison and Sarah Elizabeth Ball Dison. Jerri and her sister Brenda grew up in the Nations of West Nashville and attended Cohn High School. Jerri and her family moved to Lockertsville after graduating and she met her husband Donnie at Jimmy Hunt’s house one day while babysitting. They were married March 16, 1979.
Jerri worked most of her career in Ashland City with Dr. James Baldwin and Dr. Reggie Anderson as a nurse in their practices. She was able to retire and spend time with her 3 granddaughters. Jerri loved spending time with her family, the beach, fishing, antiques, and watching classic tv. Jerri remained positive throughout all of her life; she faced death numerous times over the years and always came out fighting and was a true inspiration. She enjoyed a good laugh, an impression, or a story. She loved The Lord, and God’s love shined through her for all to see.
Jerri is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister.
She is survived by her husband, Donnie “Poodle” Gupton, her son Russell and his wife Enjoli; her daughter Pamela Lipscomb and her husband Patrick, and her 3 granddaughters Olivia, Molly, and Charlotte.
Jerri, having spent so much time in hospitals and funeral homes over the years requested no visitation, no flowers or any of them plants that nobody can keep alive. If you so desire, you can make a donation to the Will Smith Cemetery.
At her request, a small graveside service with burial at the Will Smith Cemetery in Lockertsville will be held on Sunday, June 14th at 4:30PM.
