Brent Nicholas Smith, 43 of Baileyton passed away at his home Monday, June 8, 2026. He was born August 6, 1982, the son of Clifford Hershel Smith and Deborah A. Harper Smith. He was a 2000 graduate of Cullman High School and was currently working for Walker Brothers. Brent was a beloved soulmate, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose generous spirit touched countless lives.
Brent loved Alabama football, playing cards with his friends, and going to concerts. He was a connoisseur of music, sports, podcasts, and so many other things. He was a true Renaissance man, who valued time with family and friends above all else. He will be remembered for his sharp wit, keen intelligence, gentle nature, and unwavering generosity. A true gentle giant, he was always ready to lend a hand and would give anyone the shirt off his back without hesitation. His family and friends knew they could call on him at any time, for any reason, and he would be there. He loved deeply and unconditionally, gave freely, and brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around him. Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, the love he shared and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his soulmate, LaShay Corbin; parents, Cliff and Debbie Smith; sister, Amy (Bo) Alexander; nephew, Case; nieces, Noelle and Langley, whom he truly adored and loved; father-in-law, Bo Corbin; sister-in-law: Erin Corbin and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory. Brent will be sorely missed by his chocolate lab, Rosie, and his three cats, whom he addressed as Jimmy Buffett, Carmen Miranda, and Lulu Lemon because his love for LaShay (who chose the crazy names) knew no bounds. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, T.Q. and Olean Harper, and Egbert Smith and Esther Mae Buckelew Smith; mother-in-law: Janice Corbin.
Funeral Service will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Cornerstone Revival Center with Brother Greg Wilbanks officiating and eulogy by Braxton Miller. The burial will follow in the Baileyton Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the Cornerstone Revival Center.
