Stanford Herron Ballard, 71, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Starkville Manor Nursing Home. He was born April 30, 1955, in Tupelo, to Gus Morgan and Gladys Hunt Ballard. He worked at Crosstown Pawn Shop in Tupelo and was a Pawn Broker for multiple location for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching Ole Miss play football.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Glen Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery.
Survivors include his daughter, Nikki Ballard Wilkerson (Michael); two grandchildren, Casper West Wilkerson and Dorothy Jane Wilkerson, all of Starkville; his mother, Annette Ballard of Tupelo; three sisters, Morgan Shelton (Jerry) of Tupelo, Gina Stonich (Dick) of Baton Rouge, LA, and India Davis (Glen) of Birmingham, AL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy West Ballard; and infant son, Michael Shane Ballard; his birth mother and father.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
