COLBERT COUNTY-We are officially rolling into the summer season here in Colbert County, and things are really starting to
move. Heading into June here are the latest fun events happening in the county.
Now- June 6, 2026 – PaperWorkers Local Exhibit, Tennessee Valley Museum of Art, 511
N. Water St., Tuscumbia. The Tennessee Valley Museum of Art will host an exhibition by
PaperWorkers Local from May 9 through June 6, 2026. This Birmingham-based non-profit
artist co-operative, established in 2013, focuses on promoting the appreciation of
printmaking and works on paper. The exhibition showcases the community-driven work of
the co-op’s artists, highlighting their commitment to professional-quality studio practice

June 1, 2026 – 100 Holes for Juniors & Veterans Golf Challenge, Cypress Lakes Golf &
Tennis, 1311 E. 6th St., Muscle Shoals. The 100 Holes for Juniors and Veterans golf challenge
will take place on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Cypress Lakes Golf & Tennis in Muscle Shoals.
This physical and mental endurance challenge aims to raise funds and awareness for youth
and veteran golf programs through J&V Golf. Proceeds from the event will go directly
toward introducing young players to the game—teaching integrity, discipline, confidence,
and respect—as well as providing opportunities for veterans to reconnect, decompress,
and build community. Community members can support the cause by making a flat
donation, becoming an event sponsor, sharing the initiative, or pledging a specific amount

June 4, 2026 – Lt. Col. R. Edward Yeilding, Sheffield Public Library, 316 N. Montgomery
Ave., Sheffield. The Sheffield Public Library will host a presentation by Lt. Col. R. Edward
Yeilding on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM. A 2007 City of Florence Aviation Honor
inductee, Lt. Col. Yeilding will share the story of his historic, record-breaking flight across
America, where he set a coast-to-coast aircraft speed record of 67 minutes and 54 seconds
flying the legendary SR-71 Blackbird spy plane. This event is free and open to the public.

June 5, 2026 – Hometown Headliners, The Ritz Theatre, 111 W. 3rd St., Sheffield. The
Tennessee Valley Arts Association presents “Hometown Headliners” featuring Kirbi and
Bay Simpson on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 7:00 PM at The Historic Ritz Theatre. This concert celebrates homegrown talent from the Shoals, featuring Florence native and Nashville-based country-pop artist Kirbi alongside Bay Simpson, a Shoals native and former contestant on The Voice who blends Southern rock, Americana, and country. Together, these rising artists offer a performance that combines country roots, soulful storytelling,

*June 5-6, 2026 – African Heritage Festival, Willie Green Center, 609 S East St,
Tuscumbia. The 2026 North Alabama African Heritage Festival will celebrate its 25th
anniversary on Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6, at the Willie Green Recreation Complex
in Tuscumbia. This free, family-oriented event begins Friday at 4:00 PM with an African
Drumming Seminar by Dr. Deborah Carter, followed by “Music on the Lawn” featuring the
Midnighters. Saturday’s activities start at 10:00 AM and include children’s games, food
vendors, and a Sickle Cell Awareness seminar presented by Pamela Thompson. The
extensive musical lineup features gospel performances by Rev. Chris Neloms and the
Garner Brothers, the Muscle Shoals Twirlers, Wontanara Entertainment, and reggae bands
Cultural Dread and Exodus Reggae, culminating in a performance by blues artist King Tut.
This year’s festival will also include a parade of African attire and a special tribute to the

June 5-7, 2026 – JTS Off-Road Adventure, Seven Springs Lodge, 1292 Mount Mills Rd.,
Tuscumbia. JTS Off-Road Adventure takes place June 5-7, 2026, at Seven Springs Lodge in
Tuscumbia. The weekend features over 22 miles of 4×4 trails, a mud bog, hill climbs, and a
Show and Shine competition. Attendees can also enjoy live music, night rides, and local
vendors. Entry is $75 per 4×4 vehicle or $25 for spectators. On-site lodging ranges from

June 5-26, 2026 – “Happy Birthday America”, Helen Keller Public Library, 511 N. Main St., Tuscumbia. The Helen Keller Public Library will host “Happy Birthday, America!”, an all- ages summer program commemorating America’s 250th anniversary. Held on Fridays at 3:00 PM, these patriotic and historical events feature a Prize Store open from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The scheduled programs for the month of June include Week 1 at Belle Mont Mansion on June 5th (featuring food from Gilky’s Smokeshow and Jo’s Cool Treats), Week 2 featuring Worm Races on June 12th (featuring Lieutenant Dan’s Ice Cream), the Library Closed for Week 3 on June 19th, and Week 4 tracking a Journey Through the Life of Helen Keller on June 26th (featuring Donut NV). *June 6, 2026 – Muscle Shoals Street Rod Festival, 1 Spring Park Rd, Spring Park,
Tuscumbia. This annual festival features one of Alabama’s largest antique and street rod
car shows. Over 300 gleaming street rods and vintage classics dating from 1972 and older
will be on display in beautiful Spring Park in Tuscumbia. Come join us on the first Saturday

June 6, 2026 – Patrick Henry Program, Belle Mont Mansion, 1569 Cook Ln., Tuscumbia.
Belle Mont Mansion and the Chief Colbert Chapter of the DAR will host “Give Me Liberty, Or
Give Me Death” on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The program begins at 2:00 PM and features a
Patrick Henry interpreter from American Village performing the historic speech. Following
the reenactment, Mindy Bates, President of the Chief Colbert Chapter of the DAR, will lead a
program on Henry’s life, legacy, and his connections to Belle Mont. Admission is $6.00 per

June 6, 2026 – Landscape Sketching Workshop, Historic Standpipe, 1399 N.
Montgomery Ave., Sheffield. The Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area will host a
Landscape Sketching workshop at the Sheffield Historic Standpipe on Saturday, June 6,
2026. The event begins with initial instruction at 10:00 AM, providing an overview of
landscape sketching basics, followed by a guided practice session. Participants should bring

June 11, 2026 – Tribute to Travis Wammack, Norton Auditorium, 500 N. Pine St.,
Florence. A dual musical tribute presented by FAME Studios and the Muscle Shoals Music
Association will take place on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 7:30 PM at UNA’s Norton
Auditorium. The event honors the legacy of legendary session guitarist Travis Wammack
and the iconic FAME Gang house backing band with a star-studded lineup including Lenny
LeBlanc, Gary Nichols, Bob Wray, Clayton Ivey, and many more. Tickets for the three-hour

June 11-14, 2026 – Waiting for Godot, The Village School, 200 Chickamauga St., Sheffield.
The Village School will host a production of Samuel Beckett’s spare, absurd tragicomedy
Waiting for Godot from Thursday, June 11 through Sunday, June 14, 2026. Directed and
produced by Stephanie Crothers, the two-act play explores themes of dependency, hope,
and boredom as two men invent ways to pass the time. Performances are scheduled for
7:00 PM on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with a final show on Sunday at 6:00 PM.

June 12, 2026 – Movies at the Amp, Muscle Shoals Amphitheatre, 2010 E. Avalon Ave.,
Muscle Shoals. The City of Muscle Shoals will kick off its “Movies at the Amp” summer
series on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Held outdoors at the Muscle
Shoals Amphitheater located on Avalon Avenue, the movie screenings will begin at 7:00

Worker play, Ivy Green (Helen Keller’s Birthplace), 300 North Commons W, Tuscumbia.
Performances take place Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m., with gates opening at 7 p.m.
Due to its popularity, two Thursday performances have been added this year. Held in the outdoor
theater on the grounds of the historic Helen Keller Birthplace, this award-winning production
tells the story of Helen Keller, known as “America’s First Lady of Courage,” and her remarkable
teacher, Anne Sullivan. The Miracle Worker is recognized as Alabama’s Official Outdoor

June 12-13, 2026 – BioBlitz, Muscle Shoals Rock Pile Trail, 599 Brick Pike Rd., Muscle Shoals. Discover Life in America and the Tennessee Valley Authority will host a free, family-friendly BioBlitz at the Muscle Shoals Rockpile Trail, offering community members a hands-on opportunity to learn about local flora and fauna while contributing to scientific research. The event features two distinct sessions, beginning with an evening observation on Friday,
June 12, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM Central, which will utilize a black light setup to monitor nocturnal insect populations. A morning session will follow on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM Central, focusing on bird watching and general wildlife tracking. *June 12-14, 2026 – 2026 Sledgefest, Downtown Leighton. The town of Leighton will
host Sledgefest 2026 from Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 14. This annual music
festival honors the area’s rich musical legacy and legendary soul singer Percy Sledge,
featuring live and in-person performances by Midnighters, Big Joe & The Catfish Junkies,
Bluewater Revival, The Fingerprint Band, and Howell Sledge & the Review throughout the

June 13, 2026 – Second Saturdays, Downtown Tuscumbia. The Second Saturday’s outdoor market returns to downtown Tuscumbia on June 13, 2026, as part of its family-friendly series. Held from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the event transforms the downtown area into a vibrant marketplace featuring local artists, makers, bakers, and musicians. June 13, 2026– Trade Days at the Cove, Downtown Cherokee. Trade Days in Cherokee
will return to downtown Cherokee on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This
community flea market and craft event features a wide variety of vendors offering western gear,

June 13, 2026 – The Senior Shoals Golf Championship, Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail,
990 Sunbelt Pkwy., Muscle Shoals. The Senior Shoals Championship will take place at
Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals in Muscle Shoals, starting Saturday, June 13,
2026, at 9:00 AM. Designed for players aged 50 and older, this two-day, single stroke-play
tournament groups golfers against competitors of similar skill levels across five flights,
ranging from scratch golfers up to 20 handicaps. The tournament entry fee is $350. Players

June 13, 2026 – Dustin Ryan Hamm Memorial Golf Tournament, Cypress Lakes Golf &

June 25-28, 2026 – RENT, Cypress Moon Studios, 1000 Alabama Ave., Sheffield. The Full
Moon Players will present a production of the musical RENT from Thursday, June 25
through Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Cypress Moon Studios. Featuring music, lyrics, and a
book by Jonathan Larson, the production is directed by Dylan Bales, produced by Tonya
Holly, music directed by Hannah Ross, and choreographed by Lilly Goodwin. Tickets are

June 27-28, 2026 – Exotic Pet Expo, North Alabama State Fairgrounds, 65 Sportsplex Dr.,
Muscle Shoals. The Muscle Shoals Reptile & Exotic Pet Expo will take place on Saturday,
June 27, and Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the North Alabama State Fairgrounds in Muscle
Shoals. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
on Sunday. Admission is $10 per person per day, while children under the age of 12 can
