John Edward Greene, 57, of Hollywood, Alabama passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at his home.
He was born on Sunday, August 4, 1968, to George Edward Greene and Shelby Jean Ray Greene in Bartow, Florida.
John lived most of his life in the Ardmore community. He was of the Baptist faith.
John was a man of many passions, equally at home in the quiet woods, on the open water fishing, or at the drag strip. As an avid outdoorsman John found great joy in the patience of hunting and fishing, tracking game and casting lines with friends and family. Yet, he also loved the thrill of speed, spending countless exhilarating hours drag racing and working on engines. When he wasn’t outdoors or at the track, He was a gifted craftsman. He possessed a unique talent for woodworking, spending hours guiding wood through his scroll saw to create intricate, beautiful pieces, The handmade treasures he left behind will be cherished by his family for generations.
John was proceeded in death by his late wife, Jennifer Dunn Greene, both of his parents, one sister: Norma Jean Acton, one brother-in-law: Robert Harold Adcock Jr., one nephew; George Edward Greene III.
He was survived by one daughter; Madison Reann Greene, two brothers: George (Nancy) Edward Greene, Jr. Charles Edward Greene, two sisters: Lucinda Jane (Chip) Cannon and Irita Adcock, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will honor his memory privately.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
