Our beloved Annie Ruth Reed Harris, age 86 of Joliet Illinois passed away Sunday, May 10th, 2026 (Mother’s Day) at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, Il.
Her funeral service will be Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Horton, Alabama. Pallbearers will be her family and friends. Immediate family visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:30 am. Friends and other family visitation will be from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Ralph Reed and Elsie (Hicks) Reed, her sister; Anita (Dolly) Smith, and her daughter; Donna (Harris) Hovatter.
She is survived by her husband of almost 71 years; James Nathaniel Harris Sr., brother Billy Ralph Reed, sons; James Harris Jr. (Vicki), Jeffery Harris, Steven Harris (Mary), David Harris (Michelle), and Trisha (Harris) Pogorzelski (Kenneth). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
Annie will be remembered for a life-long devotion to her family and years of an unfailing commitment to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She leaves a legacy of devotion and enduring love to family and friends.
