Jason Michael Nix age 38 of Empire, passed away Wednesday July 13, 2016 at his residence. He was employed by Met Coal Company; he was a graduate of Sumiton Christian High School and was an avid Alabama football fan.
Funeral services will be Saturday July 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Lewis Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Dilworth Church of God Cemetery. Visitation is Friday night 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Zell Ivey and his cousin Emily Johnson.
Survivors include his children, Andrew, Jaylin and Carter Nix; mother, Susan Jay (Keith); father, James Michael Nix; grandmother, Mary Ivey; uncle, Bruce Ivey; cousins, Caitlin and Nicholas Ivey and Allie Johnson; several other relatives and many friends.
