Wyndal Wayne McCracken, age 78, of Spruce Pine, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, November 07, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Russellville, Alabama on May 29, 1945, to his parents, Marvin and Leona (Holland) McCracken.
Wyndal served his country from 1968-1974 as Field Artillery Crew Chief and received a National Defense Service Medal Expert M-14 . He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He also cared for many families as an Embalmer and Funeral Director before retiring.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his, wife of 37 years, Evelyn (Carter) McCracken; children, Melissa Waldon (husband, Brian), Marc McCracken (wife, Kailia), Matt McCracken (wife, Joy), Debby Pierce (husband, Brian), Mike Green (wife, Joni), Chad Green (wife, Tanya); eighteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Willodean Fikes; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Leona (Holland) McCracken; brothers, Willford McCracken, Earnest McCracken; sister, Maxine Pitts.
Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at South Hamilton Baptist Church the funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with military honors. Bro. Ray Latham and Bro. Dwight Wilson will be officiating and interment at Barnesville Cemetery.
