KILLEN-This is a story of love and caring that has come to the attention of The Quad Cities Daily. One young woman, Tiffany Pierce who just wanted to help a few of her friends who had to work during this trying time we find ourselves in ended up helping not just a few but many who needed to work and wanted just a little protection against COVID-19.
In her own words Tiffany Pierce tells her story of hope, love and community pride:
“Helping others is something that I have always loved and there is no better time than now.
My grandmother, mother, neighbor, and I started making masks on Saturday March 21,2020. When we started, we thought that we would help just a few people that were having to work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Little did we know, we would make over 750 masks in just one month and ship them all over the country.

The demand is so high, and the orders are still coming in. Since starting, I have had friends and strangers donate supplies for me to continue to sew and even helped with cutting fabric. I knew with the volume of orders I had coming in that I could not do this alone. I go to work during the day and come home and start sewing.
Altogether, we have put in approximately 130 hours making masks. The outpouring of love and support has been abundant. Our community has pulled together and shown so much care and compassion during this hard time. I will continue to sew until there is no longer a need.
We have been truly blessed by doing this for our community and abroad.”
