He was born in Huntsville, Alabama, attended Huntsville High School and Auburn University before becoming a groundman with Huntsville Utilities. Wolfie worked for Huntsville Utilities in a myriad of positions within the Electric Department, ultimately retiring as an Electrical Lines Supervisor after forty-two years in 2014.

Bill was an avid deer and turkey hunter often volunteering his time to the National Wild Turkey Federation with fundraisers, Women in the Outdoors, and children’s events such as JAKES Day. He was a volunteer Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency hunter’s safety educator and was also likely to be found hunting waterfowl or fishing from a canoe as he floated down the Elk River. He was a whitewater, skydiving, and SCUBA enthusiast in his younger years and enjoyed playing both mandolin and guitar.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Norwood Eddins and Mary Frances (Fowler) Eddins.

He is survived by his wife, Nedra Eddins; children, Libby Estep, Caitlin Cannon Eddins, and Coralie (Ron) Eddins; sisters, Pam (Tom) Griggs, Donnie Gordon, Julia (TJ) Cellery, and Frances “Shannie” Eddins; granddaughter, Helena Dunn; nieces and nephews, Jen Griggs, Tom (Carolyn) Gordon, Katherine (Adam) White, Jed Fisher, and Will (Andrea) Fisher; and great-nephew, Will Sapp.
