COLBERT COUNTY-The month of October is filled with spooky and sweet treats for just about everyone.  Colbert County Tourism has put all the scary events in one place so you will not miss one sweet and spooky treat!

October 2- 31, 2024 – Belle Mont Quilt Show, Belle Mont Mansion, 1569 Cook Lane,
Tuscumbia. Belle Mont Quilt Show Press Release 2025 Historic Belle Mont Mansion is excited
to bring back their annual Quilt Show! Throughout the month of October, Belle Mont will be
decorated in vintage and antique quilts, dating as far back as the 1800s! Every Friday at 1,
during the month of October, Quilt Show curator Mr. Glenn Rikard will put on a Quilt Show
Program discussing the various quilts on display throughout the house. Don’t forget to bring
your own quilt to share with the group for “Quilt Show & Tell”! Admission to the exhibit will be at
regular Belle Mont admission prices. Admission to the Quilt Show Program will be $8.00 per

October 3 – 6, 2024 – Something Wicked This Way Comes, Cypress Moon Studios, 1000
Alabama Ave, Sheffield. The classic Ray Bradbury tale comes to life LIVE onstage! In a small
anywhere town in any state in America, two young boys Will Halloway and Jim Nightshade,
enjoy the ever-shortening days of autumn. When the boys hear about a strange traveling
carnival from a lightning rod salesman, they decide to see what it is all about. However, Will is
fearful, as most carnivals end their tours after Labor Day. When the ominous Mr. Dark rides into
town on a dark midnight, setting up his massive carnival in a matter of seconds, the boys are
both thrilled and terrified. It seems to be just another carnival at first, but is it really? Can the two

October 3 – Paint and Sip: Spooky Bookshelf, Emily Cooper Studio & Art Supply, 108 North

October 4, 2024 – 2 nd Annual Beef Field Day, Old Brick Presbyterian Church, 260 Mount
Pleasant Rd, Muscle Shoals. Join us for the 2nd annual Beef Field Day in Colbert County, which
will kick off October Beef Month. This field day is geared towards livestock producers who want
to enhance their herd's profitability and develop pasture management techniques. There will be
a guest speaker from the University of Tennessee, Dr. Katie Mason, who is a Beef Systems
Extension Specialist, and we will have regional extension agent guest speakers as well. We will

October 5, 2024 – Scooters for Hooters, Natchez Trace Harley Davidson, 595 Highway 72 W,
Tuscumbia. The Scooters for Hooters poker run will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024
from 9 AM–5 PM at Natchez Trace Harley-Davidson in Tuscumbia, Alabama. The event will help
raise funds for a cure.
October 5, 2024 – Emily Cooper Art Studio Presents: Weekend Workshop, Emily Cooper

October 8, 2024 – The Memphis & Charleston Railroad Bridge: Connecting the Shoals,
Muscle shoals Public Library, 1928 Avalon Ave, Muscle Shoals. Muscle Shoals National
Heritage Area, an AHA grantee, has revealed a new traveling exhibit called "The Memphis &
Charleston Railroad Bridge: Connecting the Shoals." This exhibit aims to address the question
of how we can raise awareness about the historic Old Railroad Bridge that serves as a
connection between Sheffield and Florence. Join scholar Clayton Davis, MSNHA historic
preservationist and primary author of The Memphis & Charleston Railroad Bridge's nomination
for the National Register of Historic Places, for a thought-provoking presentation. Exhibit Talk —

October 10, 2024 – Author Talk with Georgina Cross and Rea Frey, The Logan Room, 307
N Montgomery Avenue, Sheffield. Author talks with Rea Frey in conversation with Georgina
Cross. They’ll discuss Rea Frey’s new book “In Every Life.” The event will begin at 5:30 pm with

October 10-12, 2024 – Girlfriend, The Ritz Theatre, 111 W. 3 rd Street, Sheffield. In Nebraska in
the ’90s, Will, a bit of a social outcast, and Mike, the popular football player, figure out that there
is more to life than what high school has taught them. Days after graduation, they explore their
relationship and begin to ask themselves where their lives begin. Based on the album by
Matthew Sweet, Girlfriend is a pop/rock musical for everyone who’s lived in a small town and

October 11, 2024 – 5 th Annual Civitan Charity Golf Tournament, Robert Trent Jones, 990
Sunbelt Pkwy, Muscle Shoals. 4-man scramble $500 per team. Entry fee includes green fee,

October 12, 2024 – Fall Handprint Pottery, The Artsy Place, 710 E 6th St, Muscle Shoals. As
The Artsy Place grows busier, we are no longer able take walk ins for hand print pottery! We will
now be offering hand print Pottery by events only! The Fall Handprint Pottery will begin at 10
AM.
October 12, 2024 – Laucktoberfest, Downtown Cherokee. Are you looking for a good time
with some good family fun and entertainment? If so, come on out to downtown Cherokee, AL on
October 12th to experience "Laucktober Fest 2024". This is a charity event that will benefit
Every Piece Matters for Autism Awareness. The 4th annual car show will kick off the day at 8am
and provide an escape back in time as you gaze at the beautiful and funky cars, trucks, bikes,
and tractors of the past and present. There will be a Fun Zone all day for the kiddos that will
include blow ups. There will be amazing food and vendors on site all day to satisfy your hunger
and provide you with opportunities to shop for one-of-a-kind arts, crafts, and other unique items.
There will also be silent auctions and a 50/50 raffle throughout the day. And last but certainly not
least if you love music, this is certainly the place for you. There will be live music throughout the
day beginning at 9am with “The Cadillacs” and continuing with “Joseph Baldwin” at 11am, then
ending the day with an amazing performance from one of the hottest up and coming musicians
in North Alabama, “Austin Bohannon”, going on stage at 2pm. The day will be full of fun for all
and will be sure to have people dancing in the streets by the end of the day. We hope to see

October 16, 2024 – Cherokee Public Library Community Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Fundraiser, Cherokee Public Library, 118 Church Street, Cherokee. Bring your completed
submission and entry fee to the Cherokee Public Library before 4:00 pm on Wednesday,
October 16th. Submission fee: $1 Fill out your submission card with the pumpkin’s name and
your information. Encourage your friends and family to vote by bringing donations to the library
to vote for your pumpkin. Votes must be in $1 increments. On Halloween, the votes will be
tallied. Winners will be contacted by phone and announced at noon on Facebook. The grand prize winner will be able to select 5 books to purchase for the library’s collection in their honor.

October 18, 2024 – KFK 2 nd Annual Golf Classic, Cypress Lakes Golf and Tennis, 1311 E 6 th

October 19, 2024 – Sheffield Ghost Talk–Haunted History of the Shoals, The Ritz Theatre,

October 31, 2024 – Tuscumbia Halloween Festival, Colbert County Courthouse, 201 North

Main Street, Tuscumbia, The Colbert County Sheriff’s Office is set to host its second annual
Halloween Festival. On October 31 from 6-8 p.m. The sheriff’s office will host its annual
Halloween festival with a night of fun, games, food and Halloween bags for kids. Festivities will
include hot dogs, drinks, face painting, activities and so much more. Everyone is invited and
welcome to attend. This year’s festival will take place on the Colbert County Courthouse lawn.
