Limestone County Narcotics Unit Arrests Athens Man on Drug Trafficking Charges

LIMESTONE COUNTY-On December 15, 2025, the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested James Alfred Kirby Jr., age 50, of Athens, Alabama, on charges related to drug trafficking.
The arrest followed an investigation that determined Kirby was in possession of approximately one quarter pound of methamphetamine. As a result, Kirby was taken into custody and charged accordingly.
Kirby was transported to the Limestone County Detention Facility, where he is currently being held while awaiting bond to be set by a judge.
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to aggressively combating illegal drug activity and protecting the safety and well-being of our citizens.
