TUSCUMBIA-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident involving and 11-year-old who was struck near Tuscumbia:
“A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 3:43 p.m. Monday, December 15, has claimed the life of a Tuscumbia juvenile.
The 11-year-old, who was a pedestrian, was critically injured when the juvenile was struck in the roadway by a 1996 Ford F150 driven by Lawrence S. Grissom, 70 of Tuscumbia. After the impact, the Ford left the roadway and stuck a mailbox.
The juvenile was transported to a local hospital for treatment and later succumbed to injuries.”
The crash occurred on Woodmont Drive near County Farm Road, approximately four miles south of Tuscumbia, in Colbert County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
