Wayne Wallace, age 69, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026, at his residence.
Wayne was born July 4, 1956, in Bakersfield, California, to the late Kenneth Wallace and Nellie Hardin (Ed) Watson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Theda Wallace.
He is survived by his daughter, Mieke (Dvonte) Shelton of Lewisburg; three sisters, Cindy Kelley (Daryl Winstead) of Lewisburg, Brenda Wallace of Murfreesboro and Lora Lope of Lewisburg; three grandchildren, Mila, Macklyn, and Van Hardin. He had a close relationship with several nieces and nephews known to them as “Uncle Wink.” He is also survived by special friends, Kenny Stovall “Huggy”, Keith Hollingsworth and Kendall Hollingsworth as well as numerous other friends.
He served his country in the Army, being stationed at the Panama Canal. He was a construction worker and supervised HAW asbestos removal. He was considered “a jack of all trades” and could fix almost anything. He loved playing golf, playing high school and men’s league baseball and softball, going to the beach, spending time with his daughter and grand babies, going to Dog Days, and sharpening his knives.
Wayne built a life around his family. Being the eldest child of five and the only son, he adored his sisters fiercely. He was deeply devoted to his only daughter, Mieke (Shorty). Known as Papa to his grandchildren, they were his pride and joy. He touched many lives with his humor, wisdom, and love. He was quick witted and a man of many words. He never met a stranger and loved to share his life stories. Wayne was notorious for having nicknames for people and loved to taunt and joke around. He will be severely missed and leaves behind nothing but beautiful fond memories of love, life, and laughter.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm at London Funeral Home and Crematory, 324 W. Church Street, Lewisburg, TN, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 6:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in his honor.
