SHEFFIELD-On Friday, May 9, 2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., officers with the Sheffield Police Department and the Investigations Division arrested Robin Denise Derrick, 32, and Javon Hargrove, 20, on multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants. The charges stem from a probe initiated by Sheffield investigators and presented to a Colbert County Grand Jury.

The incident occurred back on August 21 of 2024.
Javon Hargrove has been charged with Manslaughter, 3 counts of aggravated child abuse, and 4 counts of child endangerment. He is being held in the Colbert County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Robin Denise Derrick has been charged with aggravated child abuse 92 counts) and 4 counts of child endangerment. She was arrested and released from the Colbert County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
According to investigators the two charged with the death of the infant were the parents of the child. they were taken into custody without incident.
