Jacquelyn H. Jones of Huntsville, Alabama, surrounded by family, peacefully passed away May 9, 2025, at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maury Jones, and her mother and father, Hazel and Jack Harris. She is survived by her brother, William H. “Billy” Harris of Prince George, Virginia; her sister, Patricia Harris (David Burg) of Tampa, Florida; her children, Susan “Kim” Jones, Leigh “Nina” Anderson (Jeff), Leslie Martella (John), and Vivian Coleman (Chris), all of Huntsville; six grandchildren, Mollie Anderson, Morgan Anderson, Brock Anderson, Garrett Buckelew, Turner Coleman, and Landen Coleman; and two great-grandchildren, Luke Johnston and Asher Anderson.

She was born in New Canton, Virginia on April 14, 1934. Growing up in central Virginia, she excelled academically, grew to love reading, there wasn’t any art or craft she wasn’t interested in, and she literally grew up across the street from the would-be love of her life, Maury Jones.

She attended the prestigious William & Mary University, earning a bachelor’s degree in education in 1955. In 1956, she married Maury, and they embarked on his military career taking them to Germany and multiple posts across the United States before settling in Huntsville, Alabama in 1977. In Huntsville, she went to work for the U.S. Army Missile Command on Redstone Arsenal, eventually retiring as a Supervisory Contract Specialist.

In retirement, she continued her passion for reading, arts and crafts, watching her grandchildren’s sports and extracurricular events, cheering for the Atlanta Braves, watching Alabama football, and simply spending time with family and friends, her true joy.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 14th, 2025, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with a funeral service at 2:00 pm. The burial will follow immediately at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
