DECATUR-For the last several months investigators from the Organized Crime Unit of the Decatur Police Department have been working an investigation on the use and sale of drugs at Startford Place in Decatur. ย Here is how they describe the events leading to the arrests:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
For the past few months, investigators with the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit have been working on a complaint of drug sales/use at 2101 Startford Place SE. During the investigation a quantity of prescription pills were purchased from Kimberly Davenport at that residence.
On February 9, 2015. Investigators made contact with Davenport at that residence. Investigators also made contact with two other subjects that attempted to hide inside the residence. They were identified as Kevin Christopher Gist and Christopher Leo Ruckman.
While at the home Investigators located several Prescription pills and Drug sale Paraphernalia.
Davenport was charged with Unlawful
Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She will later be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $5,500.00 bond.
Gist was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Loitering.
Ruckman was charged with Loitering.
Gist is currently on probation. An attempt will be made to have his probation revoked.
The charge of Distribution of a Controlled Substance is a Class B felony. The term of imprisonment upon conviction can range between two years to twenty years for each charge. The fine for a Class B felony may be as much as $30,000.00 for each charge.”
