Killen Man Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle On U.S. 43

KILLEN-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a multi-vehicle accident that occurred in Killen has taken the life of a pedestrian:

“A multi-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 12:38 p.m. Monday, December 15, has claimed the life of a Killen man.

The pedestrian, Lonnie W. Clemons, 75, was critically injured when he was struck in the roadway by a 2014 Acura RDX driven by Cindy J. Brindley, 72, of Florence. After the initial impact, the Acura then struck a 2019 Ford Escape and a 2012 Ford F-150. Both vehicles were in the roadway and unoccupied due to a previous crash.

Clemons was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Brindley was also injured and airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred on U.S. 43 near Haygood Circle, approximately seven miles north of Killen, in Lauderdale County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
