FLORENCE – Following a recommendation from LBYD Engineering citing safety concerns, the City of Florence will close the parking deck located at the corner of Tennessee Street and Pine Street at 5 pm on December 6, 2024. To ensure a smooth transition, all vehicles must be removed from the deck as soon as possible. Vehicle owners are encouraged to take advantage of free parking in the new parking deck located at the corner of Tombigbee and Pine Street, which will remain free of charge through 2024.
“We appreciate the public’s understanding as we take necessary steps to prioritize safety,” said Andrew Betterton “We are working diligently to provide alternative parking and ensure this transition is as seamless as possible.”
Closure Date and Time: Friday, December 6, 2024, at 5:00 PM.
Alternative Parking: Free parking is available at the new parking deck on Tombigbee and Pine Street through December 2024.
No Trespassing: Signage will be installed at Mobile and Tennessee Streets to indicate the deck is closed to the public.
Security: The new parking deck includes upgraded security measures such as cameras and after-hours attendant availability.
