Tennessee Man Dies In Boating Accident On Lake Guntersville

GUNTERSVILLE– The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Marine reports a marine related death on Lake Guntersville on Sunday, March 31:

“A marine-related incident that occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. Sunday, March 31, has claimed the life of a Tennessee, man.

Christopher Gray, 43, of Dellrose, Tennessee, a passenger onboard an airboat was fatally injured, while bow fishing when the vessel struck a tree limb. Gray was thrown into the rear of the boat against the cage surrounding the propeller. Gray was later pronounced deceased on scene. The operator, Ty W. Whisenant, 43, of Union Grove was uninjured during the collision.

The crash occurred in Mud Creek on Lake Guntersville in Jackson County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Marine Patrol Division continue to investigate.
