Suspect Arrested In Auto Theft Case

ATHENS– The Madison County Sheriff’s Department received a call from  Harmony Baptist Church in Toney around 2 PM on Monday, December 7. Deputies  said just after 4 PM they took a man into custody in connection with the theft of a vehicle from  Athens  earlier Monday morning.

Athens police identified the suspect as Christian Wade Hatchett, 41. He was charged with first-degree theft of property and taken to the Limestone County Jail.

A statement from Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson:

“This afternoon we arrested Christian Wade Hatchett 41 with theft of property 1st degree.

Hatchett lives at 634 Toney Road in Toney, AL. Hatchett was transported back to Athens police department where he was booked and then transferred to the county jail. “
