Susie Jane “Sue” McCullough Comer, 91, died Thursday, February 9, 2017, at the Gilmore Memorial Hospital. She was born November 19, 1925, in Itawamba County to Delbert Bart and Clyda Jane York McCullough. She retired after working 35 years in the Home Owners Insurance Department at Community Federal Savings and Loans Bank. She was a long-time and active member of the Friendship United Methodist Church in Peppertown. She was a member of the Home-makers club. She had been living in the Smithville community the past ten years. She had been a resident of Oak Tree Manor Assisted Living in Amory the past fourteen months. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, and cooking. She loved reading the Bible and was known for quoting her favorite scripture, Micah 6:8.

Services will be at 1:00 p. m. Monday, February 13, at the Friendship United Methodist Church with Bro. Charles Coggins and Bro. Jaime Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Fulton is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Comer (Ann) of Sulligent, AL, and Mike Comer (Betty) of Smithville; one sister, Ann Nanney (J.B.) of Tupelo; five grandchildren, Dee Comer (Tiffany) of Wren, Jason Comer (Kim) of Smithville, Amy Hamilton (Brad) of Amory, Justin Comer (Taylor Smith) of Smithville, and Jaime Gilmer (Melissa) of Beaverton, AL; ten great grandchildren, Jody, Josh, Drew, and Blake Comer, Britnie Kennedy, Alex Comer, Nicolas Comer, Jackson Hamilton, Koehn Hamilton, and Skye Ledbetter; two great grandchildren, Witt and Paxton Comer; a special niece, Susanne Martin of West Port, CT.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Howard Comer, who died in 2005; one grandson, Brad Comer; one brother, James David McCullough; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be her co-workers at Community Federal Savings and Loans Bank.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p. m. Sunday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton and from noon until service time Monday at the church.
