Susan Kay Morris Baker Susan Kay Morris Baker was born in Adrian, Michigan on November 21, 1947 and departed this life on November 30th, 2023 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  While she was born in the north, she considered the south, specifically northwest Alabama her home for over 50 years.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Katherine and Roger Morris both of Clayton, Michigan.  She graduated in 1965 from Adrian High School and attended Michigan State University.  Susan is survived by her children, Chris Baker (Erica) of Elkmont, AL, Amy Baker Parton (Jason) of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Jon Baker (Stacey) of Double Springs, AL. Susan was the proud grandmother to Maxx and Hattie Baker as well as Ava Grace Baker.  She is also survived by her siblings Garry Morris (Darlene), Mary Skeels (Mark), and Mark Morris, all of Clayton, Michigan.  She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

She worked for many years for the Marion County Board of Education and volunteered in many after school activities at Hackleburg Schools where her children attended.  She attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church for many years and later in life enjoyed visiting other congregations in the community.  Regardless of where she attended, she was a Christian and her faith was unwavering throughout her life.  She proudly instilled this in her children and shared her love of scripture with those close to her.  While her life was not without challenges, she stayed firm in her faith and beliefs and the family takes great peace in knowing she is healthy and whole and we will see her again one day.

Services will be Monday, December 4 at Marion County Funeral Home in Hamilton, AL with visitation from 11:00-1:00 followed by a service at 1:00.  There will be a private burial at Mount Olive Cemetery in Hodges, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
